Ruth Cantrell

Former Ottumwa and Davis County resident Ruth Cantrell, 88, of Burlington died at 5:15 a.m. today, June 4, in Burlington Medical Center.

She was born March 10, 1894, in Jefferson County to David and Zelma Miller Henderson. She was a member of Batavia Christian Church. She married George H. Cantrell Sept. 8, 1916, in Batavia. He died in 1962.

Survivors: sons Walter of Drakesville and Virgil of Bloomfield; a daughter, Lucille Davis of Burlington; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Service: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial: Agency Cemetery.

Visitation: after 12 noon Saturday.
