Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Wednesday, May 6, 1914:

Martin Leonard died at the Ottumwa hospital Tuesday afternoon at 5 o’clock at the age of 51 years, after a lingering illness. He was born in New York June 30, 1863. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Private funeral services will be held from the Daggett chapel Thursday at 9:30 a.m., in charge of the Rev. E.W. Farris Holler.

Private funeral services of Martin Leonard, who died Tuesday, were held this morning at 9:30 o’clock at the Daggett chapel, in charge of Rev. E.W. Farris Holler. Mr. Leonard is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Leonard of this city.

(Note: Martin is buried in Shaul Cemetery.)
