Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” June 2, 1941:

Death Comes to Mrs. A.G. Erskine

Mrs. Nellie Erskine, 57, wife of Albert G. Erskine, former city sanitary officer, died at her home, 109˝ South Jefferson street, at 11 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Erskine had lived in Ottumwa for 45 years. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a member of Myrah of Rebekah lodge, No. 41; of the Women’s Relief Corps, No. 134, and of the Olive Branch No. 19, Degree of Honor. She was also a member of the local unit of the Iowa State Policeman’s auxiliary.

Born in Angus, Iowa, February 24, 1884, Mrs. Erskine was the daughter of Ethan and Katherine Ades.

Surviving are her husband, at home; one daughter, Mrs. G.E. Rhoads of Ottumwa; two sons, Donald and Howard, both of Ottumwa; her mother, Mrs. Katherine Ades, Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Lewis, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Charles E. Ades of Des Moines and John H. Ades, Ottumwa, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, with Elder Charles Harp of Lamoni in charge.
