Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” June 11, 1947:

MRS. SAM WYATT.

Mrs. Lottie M. Wyatt, 72-year-old wife of Sam E. Wyatt, Sr., died at 12:10 a.m. today at her home, 1010 East Main street.

The daughter of William and Eliza Lloyd, she was born October 7, 1874 in Lagado, Ind. A resident of Ottumwa for the past 20 years, she was a member of the Methodist church.

Mrs. Wyatt is survived by her husband; three sons, Sam Wyatt, Jr., of Ottumwa, Thomas Longdon of Higbee, Mo., and Charles Longdon of Rock Springs, Wyo.; five daughters, Mrs. Etta Armbruster, Mrs. Anna Mae Harnden, Mrs. Lucille Dragoo, and Miss Sylvia Wyatt, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Christina Murray of Leavenworth, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Short of Ottumwa and Mrs. Lida Longdon of Higbee; and two brothers, Jim Lloyd of Higbee, and Warnie Lloyd of Ladonia, Mo. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of funeral arrangements.

“WYATT SERVICES,” From “Ottumwa Courier,” June 12, 1947:

Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie M. Wyatt, wife of Sam E. Wyatt, Sr., who died early Wednesday, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Davis Street Christian church, conducted by the Rev. E.M. Boyer. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to the church Friday noon.
