Obituary From "The Ottumwa Courier,” March 17, 1988:

Jessie M. Blanchard, 76, of 204 N. Moore died at 3:01 p.m. March 15, 1988, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, 1001 E. Pennsylvania.

She was born Jan. 14, 1912, in Appanoose County to Frank and Minnie McGhghy Heartley. She was a retired employee of John Morrell and Co. and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Colleen McKee, Bonnie Fitch and Dixie Howdeshell of Ottumwa; a son, Rex Conger of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Conger.

The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Barry Stewart of Albia Road Southern Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, and the family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Haines, Jerry Parker, DeWayne McIntire, John Garr, Chris York and Bobby Jones.
