Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” December 3, 1945:

R.H. McFadden Dies; Former Contractor

Robert H. (Bob) McFadden, 71, died at 2:30 a.m. today, at his home at 709 Mechanic street, after a five-month-illness.

The son of Hamilton [sic - should be Hamelton] and Louise McFadden, he was born near Kirkville, Iowa, June 20, 1874, and spent his entire life in Wapello county. The past 40 years he was a carpenter and a contractor in Ottumwa.

He was a member of the Benton Street Presbyterian church, and was a past noble grand officer of the Odd Fellows lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Isal, a daughter, Mrs. Esther Girardot, Detroit; a granddaughter; a brother, Everett McFadden, South Gate, Calif.; three half-brothers Wilse McFadden, Phoenix, Ariz., Harvey McFadden, Lovilla, and John McFadden, Davenport; three half-sisters, Mrs. Reva Penn, Des Moines, Mrs. Kneal Moughler, Davenport, and Mrs. Fred Newman, Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Addie McFadden.

The body will remain at the Traul funeral home, where friends may call. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

“McFADDEN FUNERAL,” From “Ottumwa Courier,” December 4, 1945:

Funeral services for Robert H. (Bob) McFadden, who died at his home at 709 Mechanic street Monday morning will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Community funeral service chapel, in charge of the Rev. Charles Lawrence, pastor of the Benton street Presbyterian church.

Pallbearers will be member of the I.O.O.F. lodge No. 129. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.

The body will remain at the Community funeral chapel until time for the services.
