DEWITT SPONSLER.

BLAKESBURG.–Dewitt C. Sponsler, 79, died at the St. Joseph hospital at 3 p.m. Monday after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Wapello county having lived until 1935 on the farm where he was born. He then moved to an adjoining farm two miles east of Blakesburg, where he resided at the time of his death.

He leaves a brother, Merritt of Ottumwa; a sister, Nettie, who lived with him, an adopted daughter, Mrs. Ruby Fletcher of Blakesburg, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A half brother and a half sister preceded him in death.

The body is at the Knedler funeral home, where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in charge of the Rev. Leonard Sammon. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
