Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Monday, November 1, 1920:

Mrs. Nellie Clawson Dale died Sunday at 2:30 a.m. at the Ottumwa hospital, at the age of 31 years. She was born September 10, 1889, at Mt. Pleasant.

Mrs. Dale is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Clawson, one son, Johnnie Dale, and four brothers, Ornie C., Milford W., Charles M., and William H. Clawson, all of Ottumwa.

Mrs. Dale was a member of the Knights and Ladies of Security and of the Sunday school class of the Main street Methodist church.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, from the home at 237 Frietag avenue, and at 2:30 o’clock from the Main Street Methodist church. Rev. A.A. Heath will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
