Obituary From “Ottumwa Tri-Weekly Courier,” Friday, January 19, 1917:

Lemuel M. Darner, age 63 years, died Wednesday afternoon in Ottumwa hospital.

He was born February 13, 1853 in Zanesville, Ohio. He is survived by his widow, Elizabeth Darner and five children. They are Ira G., and Irvill L., of Sweet Grass, Mont., Mrs. Mattie M. Darby of St. Joseph, Mo., Mrs. Flo M. Culberson [sic-should be Culbertson] of Chariton and Cara Edith of Ottumwa. Six brothers and four sisters also survive.

The arrangements for the funeral will be announced later.
