MRS. HENRIETTA HARRISON
Henrietta Miller was born at Washington, D.C., on June 8, 1848, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Whennen, 225 North Davis street, Ottumwa, on Friday morning, March 3, 1922, aged 73 years, 7 months and 5 days.
She came to Iowa with her parents when a girl, the family settling near Fairfield.
She was married at Fairfield on September 13, 1866, to Robert Harrison, who preceded her in death by 23 years. To this union were born ten children, two of whom preceded her in death. Those remaining are Robert of Fairfield; Mrs. Laura McCarty, and Noah Harrison of Ottumwa; Mrs. Ellie Ardell Dixon of Gifford, Ark.; Mrs. Alsina Rupe, Arthur; Charles, Mrs. Gertrude Whennen and Mrs. Evaline Taylor, all of Ottumwa.
Mrs. Harrison has lived all of her life in Wapello and Jefferson counties. She has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since 1906. She was a kindly, home loving, neighborly Christian woman. She has suffered greatly, being an invalid for the last two years.
Besides the surviving children, there remain a brother, William Fredrick of Fairfield, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Gonterman of California. These together with 35 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and many friends mourn here [sic] departure and revere her memory.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wheenen [sic], 225 North Davis street, conducted by the Rev. H. Barker, of the Willard street church. Interment was made at the Shaul cemetery.–Contributed.
