William A. Brown, a highly respected farmer of Wapello County died Monday morning at 11 o'clock at his home southeast of Eddyville. Mr. Brown had been a patient sufferer for some time and his death was not unexpected. His family with the exception of one son was at his bedside when death came. He leaves to mourn their loss besides, his wife, five children, Mrs. Frank Tempelton of Eddyville. Mrs. Earl McElroy of Eddyville, Mrs. Sherm Heinman of Eureka Springs, Ark., Bert Brown of Eddyville and William Brown of Colorado. He is also survived by four sisters. Mrs. Ellen Beggs of Queen City, Mo., Mrs. Willis Moss of Ottumwa, Mrs. A. J. Lannls of Sioux Falls, S. D.. and Mrs. Arnold Johnson of Eddyville. Mr. Brown was born June 17, 1848 on a farm southeast of Eddyville and has
spent the greater part of his life in Wapello County. He was married In Ottumwa June 17, 1873 to Maretta Chapman and with his bride moved to a farm near Eddyville where the family has since resided. The death of Mr. Brown comes as a personal sorrow to all who knew him. He was a true friend, and kind and loving neighbor, an example of worthiness as father and husband, a man who will be missed in every walk in life. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family in their bereavement.
