VENATOR—The funeral of Frank Venator, who died Friday morning, at his home near Dudley, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Chillicothe M. E. church, Rev. G. W. Barber conducting the services. Interment at Odd Fellows cemetery.
Ottumwa tri-weekly courier, January 21, 1911Frank, the third son of Ellen and Daniel Venator was born July 6. 1877 near Bussey Iowa, and departed this life at 11:15 a. m. Jan. 13, 1911 at the home of his father one mile south of Dudley. He leaves a devoted wife, one son Hurbert aged 13 and a daughter Bernice age 8 besides three brothers, Ben and Cliff of Hynes and Will of Avery, also an aged father and mother. Frank was a very great sufferer during the past two months, the disease that cut him off in the prime of life being cancer. It is beyond the imagination of man to conceive of the terrible sufferings of this one, as he was repeatedly operated upon without avail. Nothing that medical skill or loving hands could do was left undone. He bore his pain very patiently and was able to say, "Thy Will Be Done." He united with the Methodist Episcopal Church during his illness. He was an honored member of the Modern Woodmen, United Mine Workers of America also the Mutual Aid of Hynes. The high esteem in which he was held, was shown by all of these orders during his illness. Frank was a kind and loving husband and father and will be sadly missed by his family. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. W. Barber of Chillicothe at 2 p. m. Sunday from the Chillicothe M. E. church the floral offerings were many and beautiful. Among them was a beautiful wreath from the Woodmen, interment was made at the I. O. O. F. cemetery at Chillicothe, Iowa.—Contributed.
