Mrs. Alice Lord, 74, of 1806 W. Samantha St., died at St. Joseph's hospital at 12:40 PM of a heart attack suffered last week. She was the daughter of John and Mary Kirkman and was born in Bolton, England, May 16, 1862. She came the United States in 1908 to Rutledge. She lived in Ottumwa for the last 10 years. Surviving are three sons, James M. of Marshalltown, and John and Joseph of Ottumwa; two nephews, John Whitman and John Brooks of Ottumwa and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at Johnson's funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. E. R. Mitchell. Burial be made in the Ottumwa cemetery.
