Bert M. Armstrong, 62, who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Walker Proud, Ottumwa route 5, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 2 AM today following a sunstroke which he suffered on the farm last Monday. He had been a lifelong resident of Wapello County. Surviving are one son, LaMar Armstrong of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. A. B. Ruble of Ottumwa, and two brothers, J. A. Armstrong of Ames and T. H. Armstrong of Wilton Junction. Funeral services will be held at the Lester Jay funeral home Saturday at 4 PM conducted by the Rev. H. Sears Thomson, D. D., Burial will be made in Kirkville cemetery.
