Old Ottumwan Is Dead At 82
Mrs. Arabella Collins Ford Had Lived Here For Last 60 Years; Died Today
An aged Ottumwan, Mrs. Arabella Collins Ford, 82 for sixty years a resident here, died at her home, 437 N. Court St., at 2:45 AM today. She was the widow of C. E. Ford. Mrs. Ford was born in Pennsylvania, September 18, 1853. She was a member the First Presbyterian Church, O. E. S. No. 112 and a charter member of the past worthy high priestess of Wapello White Shrine No. 4. She had been ill for about three months. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. E. A. Haw and Miss Lena Ford of Ottumwa and Miss Vera Ford of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Mrs. Green True of Lincoln, Missouri; two grandchildren, Mariam and Stanley Haw of Ottumwa and three great grandchildren, Stanley, Edwin and Joanna Haw, all of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Daggett funeral Chapel at 2:30 PM conducted by the Rev. H. Sears Thomson, D. D. Burial be made in the Ottumwa cemetery. Wapello White Shrine No. 4 will also have services. Music will be by Mrs. Nellie Frost and Mrs. Ola Evans. Pallbearers will be Frank Haw, Stanley Haw, Fred H. Hartman, Frank Spry, John Weidenfeller and John Clemons.
