G. W. Stotts Of Ottumwa Dies Today
George Washington Stotts, 88, father of Mrs. Hal Clark, 217 Oakwood Ave., died at 2:30 AM today at the Clark residence where he had made his home the last 20 years. Mr. Stotts was born in Columbia, Ohio on July 25, 1847. He spent 19 years in the merchandising business in Woodburn, Iowa, prior to his coming to Ottumwa. Mrs. Stotts died July 24, 1929. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Woodburn. Survivors are the one daughter, Mrs. Clark; one son; Fred E. Stotts of Beverly Hills, California; and five grandchildren, Margaret Jane and Helen Louise Clark of Ottumwa, and Hazel Frances and Fred Stotts of Beverly Hills. Two brothers preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Daggett funeral Chapel Tuesday night between 7 and 9 o'clock. The body will be shipped Wednesday morning to Woodburn where the funeral cortege will proceed directly to the Woodburn cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Larrick will have charge of services at the grave.
