Bert Arnold, 58, Is Found Dead
Victim Of Heart Attack Discovered By Sheriff’s Officers In Weed Patch.
Aid from the Wapello County Sheriff's office was given Tuesday night in finding the body of Bert Arnold, 59, lying dead a short distance from his home in a weed patch. Coroner John Drake pronounced the cause of his death as a heart attack. Mr. Arnold who lives on Floris route 2, had gone out Tuesday morning to do chores. He was a W. P. A. Worker. When he didn't return, Mrs. Arnold searched unsuccessfully, finally calling Sheriff C. E. Harding at 9 PM. The body was found at 12:15 AM today. He was the son of Robert B. and Margaret Arnold and was born in Appanoose County, September 21, 1876. He lived and Wapello County for the last five years. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Berdean Foust of Ottumwa; two half-brothers, Edd Wyatt of Ottumwa and Thane Wyatt of Kansas City, Missouri, and one grandson, Eugene Foust. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 PM at Johnson's funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. U. R. Willey of the Church of God. Burial be made in the Shaul cemetery.
