Gaylord Herman Dies At Farson

FARSON - Gaylord Andrew Herman, 76, died at 1 p.m. Saturday at his home in Farson. He was a retired farmer and spent his entire life in the Farson community. He served in the Airforce in World War I.

He was born May 8, 1894, near Farson in Wapello county the son of Michael George and Mary Jane Dudgeon Herman. He was married Nov. 11, 1922 to Mary Isabelle Harrison in Ottumwa.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Rex Herman of Hedrick; a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Davis of Ottumwa; one brother, Harry Herman of Hedrick and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19 at 2 p.m. in the Fremont Funeal chapel with Rev. Robert Capps of the Farson Baptist church in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery in Ottumwa.
