ALFRED YEAGER, 91 year old resident of Bladensburg died at 6 a.m. today at his home following an illness of two weeks.
The son of John and Susan Yeager, he was born in Virginia May 5, 1858 and had bee a long time resident of this community. His marriage to Martha McDowell took place October 13, 1879 at her parent's home near Bladensburg. The couple celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in October 1949. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, John W Yeager of Bladensburg and Millard U Yeager of Ottumwa; a half brother in Williamson; two half sisters, Mrs. Maggie Steiner of Corydon, and Mrs. Jeannie Nicholson of Ottumwa; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.The body is at Community Funeral home in Ottumwa. Burial at Bladensburg Cemetery.
