FAIRFIELD - Leo Isaac DeSpain, 89, of Fairfield died at 12:10 a.m. May 8, 1987, at Jefferson County Hospital.
He was born Dec. 28, 1897, in Burlington to Newton and Emma Peterson DeSpain. He had been a machinist for CB&Q Railroad Railroad for 43 years, and had lived in Fairfield since 1977, when he moved there from Ottumwa. He married Etta Williams in December 1932 in Lancaster, Mo. She died Nov. 16, 1955.
He is survived by a sister, Frances Sheehan of California.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Friends may call at their convenience at Behner Funeral Home, beginning Sunday.
