DEATH SUMMONS GEORGE MILLER
August 11, 1947

George W. Miller 80, of 705 E. Vine Street died today at 5:22 a.m. at the home of his daughter Mrs. Goldie Shelton 321 North Ferry Sreet.

The son of Medora and Alexander Miller he was born Dec. 31, 1866 in Houston MO. He was married to Ella Williams May 29, 1889. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 27 years and was a member of the Church Of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife March 25, 1939, three sisters and his parents.

Mr. Miller is survived by two sons; Claude Miller of Ottumwa and Homer Miller of Bagley, IA: five daughters; Mrs. Goldie Shelton, and Mrs. Mae Strunk of Ottumwa; Mrs. Delphia Dooley of Indianapolis; Mrs. Pauline Clark of Bondurant, and Mrs. Elva Llewellyn of Cedar Falls; four brothers, Steven Miller of San Diego, James Miller of St. Joseph, Mo, William Miller of Wyonotta Okla., and Oscar Miller of Alaska, and four sisters; Mrs. Martha Kilgore of Tonkawn, Okla., Mrs. Vada Smith of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Alice Cooper of Hartshorn MO., and Mrs. Ollie Lewis of Cabool, Mo. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren.

The casket will remain at Johnsons Funeral Home until Sunday at 9:30 a.m. when it will be taken to the daughter Mrs. Fay Strunk. It will be taken to the church on Monday at noon.

Pallbearers will be Floyd Shelton, Frank Strunk, Eugene Dooley, Bill Clark, George Llewellyn and Paul Miller. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
