Mary Salts

Mary Salts, 88, of Eldon, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McCleary Cemetery, east of Batavia with Ricky Fiedler officiating.

Mrs. Salts was born July 22, 1913, in Birmingham, the daughter of Silas and Veda Mathias Ehret. She married Stanley Salts Sept. 17, 1949, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death.

She was raised and educated in Van Buren County. After living in serveral different states, she settled in the Eldon area and lived there for 35 years where she was a laborer. Her pastimes included fishing.

She was a member of the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon.

Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Cook of Libertyville.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Willie, Sam, Abe, Lester, Raymond and Roscoe Ehret; one sister, Vada, in infancy; and one half-brother, Roy Mathias.
