Cooper Stober, 74, of Clear Lake and formerly of Ottumwa, died at 5:35 a.m. Aug. 17, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.She was born July 16, 1934 in Ottumwa to William and Margaret Twedell Cooper. She married David S. Stober July 16, 1977.A graduate of Ottumwa High School and the Iowa Success School, she had worked at Ottumwa Hospital and at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Surviving is her husband, David; a son, Doug Cooper of Clear Lake; a grandson, Dane Cooper of Clear Lake; three stepsons, Russell Stober of Rolla, Mo., Scott Stober of Bella Vista, Ark. and Danny Stober of Fulton, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Dixie Norris of Bella Vista, Ark. and Victoria Lewis of Columbia, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Hall and Joyce Hazelwood, both of Ottumwa; three nieces and a nephew.She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Wyldes officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
