Joseph D. Robinson

Joseph D. Robinson, 65,of Houston, died Monday, May 3, 1993, at Methodist Hospital in Houston of complications from Crone's Disease.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Corners Cemetery in Eddyville. A memorial has been established to Bishop Drumm Foundation at Johnston. Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines is in charge of arrangements.

Robinson was born March 22, 1928, in Ottumwa, the son of Dewey M. and Anna Marie Moss Robinson. He entered kindergarten in Fairfield, then the family moved to Des Moines. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945, from Drake University in 1949, earned a master's degree from University of New Mexico in 1952 and a Ph.D from Washington Unversity in St. Louis in 1956. He retired from Shell Development co. as a project leader in borehole physics in 1985 and was a consultant to Shell and other groups until 1989. He was active professionally as a bassoonist with the symphony in New Mexico and Texas until 1960, was a member of the American Physical Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers and Sigma XI.

He is survived by cousins.
