Joyce Burgason

Joyce Burgason, 70, of Blakesburg died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 1998 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Munterville Lutheran Church west of Ottumwa with the Rev. Kent Shane. Cremation will follow the service with private inurnment in Munterville Lutheran Cemetery later. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Alexander-Johnson Funeral Chapel. An Eastern Star service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel followed family visitation until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Munterville Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Burgason was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Ottumwa the daughter of Ray and Lura Goehring Linder. She married Lowell A. Burgason Sept. 18, 1949 at First Christian Church in Ottumwa.

She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1945 and attended Iowa Success School in Ottumwa for two years. She worked at Fairfield Clinic as a medical assistant for 20 years. She was a member of the Munterville Lutheran Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband; one son Mark of State Center; one daughter Rebecca Jobe of West Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Joanne Linder Sedore.
