Frank Elkins, 74, Native Of County Is Dead
Frank Elkins, 74, died at his home, 328 N. Mary St., Wednesday at 9:25 PM. He had been a Wapello County resident all his life. He was the son of Edgar and Mary Elkins and was born in Wapello County, July 23, 1861. For the last 44 years he had lived in Ottumwa. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Elza Elkins of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kendall of Ottumwa and Mrs. Polly Hopwood of Ottumwa route 6; two brothers, Manuel of Ottumwa and Dave of Ottumwa route 7 and one grandson, Gilbert Elkins of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by two infant children. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 PM at Johnson's funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Charles A. Albin. Burial be made in Shaul cemetery.
