Ottumwa Courier April 15, 1936

Word has been received by J. F. Rugg, 527 W. 4th St., of the death Tuesday at 5 AM at the home of her nephew, J. Philip Ullrich, at his home in Kansas City Missouri; Mr. Ullrich is a former Ottumwan. He was born at Centerville, August 3, 1877 and came to Ottumwa when he was six years old. He was employed in the Burlington railroad division offices here for many years. Surviving are his wife, Winifred; a daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Ullrich, and a sister, Edna E. Ullrich, all of Kansas City, an infant son and his father, John Philip Ullrich preceded him in death. Christian Science funeral services will be held Tuesday in Kansas City. The body will arrive in Ottumwa Thursday night and will be at the Lester Jay funeral home until 2:30 PM Friday when short services will be conducted by the Rev. H. Sears Thomson, D. D. Burial be in the Ottumwa cemetery.
