Woman Dies On Way To Hospital
Mrs. Lyle Bales Succumbs To Heart Attack, Pneumonia In Ambulance.
Mrs. Viola Dahlgren Bales, 27, wife of Lyle Bales, 825 Lee Ave. died on the way to the local hospital at 1 PM today. Stricken with pneumonia and acute heart attack was fatal to Mrs. Bales while riding in ambulance between her home in the hospital. She was the daughter of Oscar and Sylvia Dahlgren and was born in the Eldon, September 6, 1908. She had lived in Ottumwa for the last eight years. She was graduated from Selma high school in 1926. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Billie and Melvin Lee both at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dahlgren of Selma; one brother, Charlie Dahlgren, also of Selma, and her grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Pottorff of Eldon. She was preceded in death by one son, Bobbie, in 1933. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
