Mrs. Viola Hooks, 65, widow of Aaron Hooks, Farson, died at 4 AM today in St. Joseph hospital. She was brought from Des Moines Sunday and was believed to be recovering. Mrs. Hooks leg was amputated at Des Moines recently because of a foot infection. Surviving are four sons, Edwin of Farson, Lester of Fort Ann, New York, Lawrence of Fairfield and Corban of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. Rose Stever of Adel; three brothers, Charles Skinner of Canada, Jesse of Adel and Corban of Adele, and six grandchildren. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. Burial be made in the McCormick cemetery near Highland Center. Funeral arrangements here will be held at the Lester Jay funeral home at the time to be announced later.
