OTTUMWA - Mildred O. Pearson, 91, formerly of 161 N. Ransom died Dec. 17, 1997, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Centerville.
She was born Aug. 21, 1906, in Jefferson County to Sherman and Mattie Beck Caves. She married Orval Pearson; he died Nov. 24, 1986.
She had taught in public school in Jefferson and Wapello counties. She was a member of Munterville Lutheran Church, Mariam Circle of the church and Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Cooper of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Richard Pearson.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Munterville Lutheran Church, the Rev. Kent Shane officiating. Burial will be in Munterville Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. today at Alexander-Johnson Funeral Chapel with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Munterville Lutheran Church.
