Mrs. Clara Tyler, 59, of 805 W. 2nd St., died at 11 AM today at the Ottumwa hospital. She was the wife of W. H. Tyler. Mrs. Tyler was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, March 27, 1876, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bartline. She came to Ottumwa in 1902 living here until 1904. For the next 10 years she lived in Albia. She returned and has lived here since 1914. She was a member of the O. E. S. and the Pythian sisters. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church here. Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Kistner, Webster City; two sons, Arthur of Iowa Falls and Harold of Fort Madison; two brothers, Joe Bartline of Yakima, Washington, and Fenton Bartline of Wildwood Crest, New Jersey one sister, Mrs. George Guthrie of Yakima, and four grandchildren. The body will be at the Lester Jay funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
