Tuesday Rites For Mrs. Benn

ELDON - Mabel Pearl Benn, 82, died Saturday at 2:10 a.m. at the Sunnyslope Extended Care Center, Ottumwa, after an illness of six months.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon with Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Competine Cemetery near Farson.

Mrs. Benn was the daughter of Ulysses and Ella McNeil Hawthorne. She was born March 6, 1894 in Wapello County, amd lived all her life there and in Jeffeson County.

On Feb. 16, 1916, she married Roy O. Benn, who died in 1956.

She is survived by one son, Delbert A. Benn, Batavia, and two daughters, Ila Olsen, San Francisco, Calif., and Alice Lovelace, New Orleans, La.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Benn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farson and had lived in Eldon for 25 years.
