OTTUMWA - Harvey L. Freshwater, 67, native of Fairfield, died Sunday at 4:13 a.m. at the Ottumwa Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Dendler officiating. Interment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Harvey L. Freshwater was born April 13, 1909, at Fairfield, the son of John N. and Marie Anderson Freshwater.
He had been a resident of Ottumwa for 58 years and had been employed at the Ottumwa Iron Works, Wingers Manufacturing Co., and retired from the Valley Supply Co., in 1970 because of ill health. He was a member of the Willard Street United Methodist Church in Ottumwa.
He was married in February, 1930, to Mary Mather who died in Oct. 8, 1942. He was married to Gladys Marshall Tennis Aug. 16, 1945, who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Boesen, Waterloo; three sons, Donley D., Columbia, S.C.; John A., Lafayette, La.; and Earl, Waterloo; also 13 grandchildren and a brother, Art Freshwater, Barberton, Ohio.
The family home is at 126 N. James Street in Ottumwa.
