Resident For 82 Years Dies Here
Mrs. Dorothy Hendricks, Charter Member Of Davis Street Church, Born In 1854.
Mrs. Dorothy Ann Hendricks, 82, a Wapello County resident all her life, died at her home, 126 South Davis St., Saturday at 7:50 PM. She was the daughter of Samuel and Hester Randall and was born in Wapello County, January 14, 1854. She had lived in Ottumwa for the last 42 years. She was married to William Hendricks, December 31, 1874. He preceded her in death January 10, 1933. She was a charter member of The Davis Street Christian church. Surviving are three sons, Charles of Detroit, Michigan, and Frank and Jesse, both of Ottumwa; three brothers, Jeff Randall and Charles Randall, both of Ottumwa, and John of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Louise Chandler and Miss Nellie Hendricks, and one son, Samuel. Short services were held at the residence, 1216 S. Davis Street at 12:30 PM today and at 1 PM at The Davis Street Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Roy C. Leeds. Burial be made in the Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers were Bernard, Earl, Harold, Will and Elmer Hendricks and Casper Cloyd.
