BAKER rites at Eldon

ELDON - Services were held Tuesday at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon for George A. BAKER, 74, of Selma. Burial was in Iowaville Cemetery east of Eldon.

He died Feb. 7 at the Ottumwa Hospital after he had suffered a heart attack at his home a few hours earlier.

A retired carpenter and farmer, BAKER was born June 28, 1907, in Howell County, Mo., to George and Nellie May HUBBELL BAKER. He lived most of his life in the Selma Community where he was a member of the IOOF Lodge.

Baker was a charter member and past president of the Southeast Chapter of the Iowa Archeological Society and had worked on repairs made on the old lock tenders house in the Iowaville area.

His marriage to Madeline SPILLMAN took place June 6, 1936.

In addition to his widow he is survived by two sons, Otis, Jefferson City, Mo., and Tom, Fairfield; six grandchildren; a brother, Albert BAKER, Fairfield; and a sister, Marybelle HOOTMAN, Douds.

BAKER was preceded in death by one daughter.
