FLOYD E. VANKIRK of 1102 Hayne St. died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital. He had been ill for a week.

He had worked at John Morrell for 27 years and at the time of his death was foreman of the night roundabout gang.

The son of Margaret Richards and George Van Kirk he was born at Ottumwa April 5, 1911. He had lived here all his life. He and Kathleen Haines were married at Ottumwa April 13, 1934. She survives. Other survivors are a daughter Mrs. Wilma Silver of Ottumwa; his mother Mrs. C.R. Burton of Ottumwa, a sister Mrs. Wilma Nelson of Ottumwa; a brother George of Davenport; two half sisters Mrs. Betty Smith of Ottumwa and Mrs. Wade Dexter and a half brother Russell Burton of Phoenix Arizona. His father and step brother proceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Shauls Cemetery.
