I. Welsh, 85, Dies Here Wednesday
Ira Welsh, 85 died at 10:35 PM Wednesday at the home of his son James Welsh, in Ottumwa. Mr. Welsh had been a resident of Wapello County about 65 years. He was born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, in 1850. He came to Wapello County in young manhood and had lived here ever since, operating a farm for portion of that time. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Leo Rusch, Mrs. Warren Meeker, Mrs. Alice Peck, Charlie and James Welsh, all of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. George Spears of Floris; 32 grandchildren and 20 a great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 PM at the James Welsh home and at 2 PM at the Wesley Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. C. A. Field. Burial will be made in Dahlonega.
