Mrs. Hazel Deal, 35, wife of Leonard Deal, died at her home, 125 S. Ash St., Thursday at 4:25 PM. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Franzke and was born in Chamberlain, South Dakota, April 26, 1900. She had lived in Ottumwa for the last 14 years. She was a member of the Eagles auxiliary No. 114. Surviving are her husband, Leonard; one son, Donald and a daughter Darleen all at home; and her father, William Franzke of Brookings, South Dakota; two brothers Clifford of Brookings and Charles of White Lake, South Dakota and one sister, Mrs. Edward Hardies of Tucson, Arizona. Her mother and one brother preceded her in death. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
