Resident For 50 Years Is Dead
Mrs. Emily Crail, 79, Succumbs At Home Of Daughter In Santa Barbara California.
Mrs. Emily S. Crail, 79, widow of James Milton Crail, who for 50 years had made her home at 921 Hackberry St., died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nora B. Nicklin, Santa Barbara California. She was born in Eddyville, January 27, 1856 and was a charter member of the ladies auxiliary of the Order of Railroad Conductors and a charter member of the Pythian sisters, and was a member of the Woodbine Camp, Royal Neighbors of America. Surviving are a daughter and two sons, Alvin J. of Des Moines and Ernest Crail, St. Louis; three brothers, E. J. Powers of Chicago, Fred C. Powers of Des Moines, Harry Powers of new of York, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Ricker of Butte Montana and Mrs. J. A. Mauk, York, Nebraska, and eight grandchildren. The body will arrive in Ottumwa Saturday on the Milwaukee train No. 126, and will be taken to the Lester Jay funeral home. Funeral services will be held there Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Harold Lancaster, D. D. Pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of which she was a member. Mrs. Nicklin will accompany the body to Ottumwa and will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Jackson, 121 N. Sheridan Ave.
