Mrs. Dicy Lou Arnold, 78, widow of John Arnold, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Wellman, Ottumwa route 1, Sunday at 3 PM. She was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Figgins and was born near Washington, Iowa, February 25, 1857. She had lived in Wapello County and Ottumwa for the last 40 years. She was a member of The Willard Street Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J. F. Heflin and Mrs. Wellman, both of Ottumwa; one son, Lloyd B. Arnold of Norfolk, Virginia; and one brother, George Figgins of Kalona; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Short funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Heflin, 125 N. Willard St., Tuesday at 1:30 PM and at 2 PM at the Willard Street Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. A. P. Keast. Burial will be made in the Shaul cemetery. The body will be taken to the home at 5 PM today.
