Daniel L. Stickler, 94 year old retired Morrell employee, died today at 5:05 a.m. at the Rest Haven nursing home. The son of the Rev. Billy and Nancy Stickler he was born December 19, 1855 in Appanoose County where he was a farmer until moving to Ottumwa in 1918. His marriage to Mary Ellen Zook tood place November 7, 1875 in Udell, Iowa. During his residence in Ottumwa he was employed by John Morrell & Co. from 1913 until his retirement in 1928. He was a member of the Brethren church in Udell. Mr. Stickler is survived by two sons, S. L. Stickler and Joe N. Stickler, both of Chicago: two daughters, Mrs. Edna Reed of Des Moines and Mrs. Bessie Smallwood of Ottumwa; one sister Mrs. I. O. Roby of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife in 1932; his parents; one son, Clyde in 1945; one daughter in infancy; four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. Sherman R. Hanson of the Davis street Christian church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
