James R. (Mickey) McDonald 56, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home, 2102 East Main Street, Tuesday at 11 a.m. He was the son of James and Olive Ingles McDonald and was born here June 1, 1890 where he has been a resident all of his life. He was married to Myrtle Hamersley, January 26, 1941 in Des Moines. Mr. McDonald was a member of A.F. and A.M. Lodge No. 16 was a former superitendent of Ottumwa City parks, and a democratic committeman from the first ward. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle: two sisters, Mrs. Alyce Beaver and Mrs. Bessie Ashba, both of Ottumwa. He was proceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George P. and Wallace S. McDonald. Funeral services will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel Friday at 3 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Edward D. Byrd of the East End Presbyterian church. Burial will be in the Ottumwa Cemetery. Masonic sercies will be held at the grave. Pallbearers will be Robert Fisher, Clint Rhoads, Lowie Morrell, Charles Smith, Jack Wrenn and James Wrenn.
