John Bernard Link, 54, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, and formerly of Ottumwa, died Sunday at 9:12 a.m. at Calico Rock, Arkansas. He was born August 8, 1920 in Ottumwa Iowa, the son of Joseph A. and Mary Maloney Link. He was a retired industrial engineer for the Morrell Packing Co. Formerly of 132 South Lillian, he had lived in Ottumwa most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Ann Tray February 1, 1944 at Corvallis, Oregon. Also surviving are one son, Terry of Eldridge; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Vaughn of Ottumwa and Jody Link, at home; four brothers, Ed of Cincinnati, Ohio; Michael of St. Louis, Missouri; Paul of Iowa City, Iowa and William of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. Mary Yingling of Ottumwa, and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one son, John, who was killed in Vietnam in 1968. The service has been tentatively set for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Reverend Paul Hart celebrating a Requiem Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A rosary wake service will be Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at Jay Funeral Home
