OTTUMWA - Beverly Fontelle Counterman, 71, of 700 W. Alta Vista, died September 13, 2005, at home.
She was born November 4, 1933 in Appanoose County to Rev. Russell L. and Ethyle Jones Selix. She married Wayne Gerald Counterman February 9, 1952.
A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1951 and had attended the Iowa Success School. She worked as a secretary at Ottumwa High School for six years and at Wildwood Elementary School for 6 1/2 years. She loved her family and greatly enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. She was an avid bowler and belonged to the "600" Bowling Club.
Surviving is her husband; three children, Martin "Marty" and his wife Shelli, Kim Ardueser and her husband Bill all of Ottumwa, Amy Heinrichs and her husband Steve of Norwalk; eight grandchildren, Toni Counterman, Traci Counterman, Clint Ammenhauser, Shelbi Eakins, Scott Heinrichs, Tyler Heinrichs, Andy Ardueser and Jillanne Ardueser; a brother, Joe Selix of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Lowell and C.W. "Bugs" Selix.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with her brother, Joe Selix, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Jordan, Zeb Bacus, David McCall, Don Baker, Bud Leedom and Rocky Lord.
Memorials may be made to Hospice.
