CENTERVILLE - The funeral for Elmer Ray Selix, 82, a retired farmer and a resident of Agency for the past 4 1/2 years, who died at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa Tuesday at 6 p.m., will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery at Unionville.
Selix had been ill 4 1/2 years and a hospital patient since July 3. He was born May 26, 1886, in Davis County, near Bunch, the son of John M. and Viola Emmaline Crawley Selix. His marriage to Floy Brookes took place at Unionville Jan. 11, 1914. He was a longtime resident of the Unionville and Udell area and a member of Unionville Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Beatrice White of Agency and Viola Walker of Mesa, Ariz.; three sons, Francis of Bloomfield, Lloyd of Udell, and Staff Sgt. Doyle of Lowry, AFB, Colo; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles of Boise, Idaho; and two half-sisters, Dora Harris of Des Moines and Ruth Taylor of Ottumwa.
