Mrs. Thelma C. Selix, 71, of 602 E. Mary died Thursday at 8 p.m.
The daughter of Henry and Stella Hopkins Herman, she was born Feb. 8, 1904 in Unionville. A resident of Ottumwa since 1921, she was a member of the First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church. She married Walter R. Selix Dec. 22, 1919 in Centerville, and he survives.
Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Lyman of Ottumwa; two granddaughters, Mrs. Connie Spilman of Des Moines and Pam Lyman of Ottumwa; and two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Gretchen Eidson of Ottumwa, Mrs. Nellie Bass of Lake Worth, Fla., Mrs. Fairy McGrann of Mystic and Mrs. Fern Jones of Des Moines; and two brothers, Harry and Bob Herman, both of Unionville.
The service will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Kenneth Barney officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery and the casket will be taken from the Reece Funeral Home to the church Monday at 9 a.m. A memorial has been established payable to the building fund of the church.
