Mrs. Crawley Dies After Breaking Leg

CENTERVILLE - Mrs. A.R. Crawley, 88, a long-time resident of the Unionville vicinity, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph hospital here, where she was brought Monday with a fracture of the right leg received in a fall while staying at the Probasco nursing home near Moulton.
She was Melissa Ellen Selix, and was born in Ohio, and came to Appanoose county with her parents when a child. She was married to Art R. Crawley, who died ten years ago. Following his death, Mrs. Crawley left the farm north of Unionville and lived with Mrs. Minnie Replogle at Udell until about one year ago, when she moved to the nursing home. She was a member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rufus Quigley of Ankeny, Iowa, and Mrs. Carrie Wright of Newton; two brothers, James Selix of Ottumwa, her twin; and Thomas Selix of Unionville; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. James Patrick of Centerville, four sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Unionville Methodist church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Unionville Cemetery. The body will remain at the Miller funeral home here until time of the services.
