ROBERT JOHNSON

OTTUMWA -- Robert C. Johnson, 87, of 440 Grandview died at 4 p.m. Oct. 5, 1993, at his home.

He was born Dec. 19, 1905, in Ottumwa to Oscar and Nellie Huddleston Johnson. He married Irene Elizabeth Gerard on June 28, 1925, in Grinnell. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 1992.

He was a resident of Ottumwa all his life and he was an employee of John Morrell & Co. for 48 years. He retired in 1968. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and lifetime member B.P.O. Elks 347.

He is survived by two sisters, Eloise Collett and Gailie Dugan of Ottumwa.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, the Rev. Robert Lahmann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation is open at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wally Bergman, Randy Rhoades, Ed McElroy, Ansel Moughler, Pat Glasgow and Glenn Roush.

Honorary pallbearers will be C.O. Schlunz, Fred Bullock, George Orman, Wendell McKay, Dick Dugan and John Dugan.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wapello County, 312 E. Alta Vista.
