Harold Lee, 77, of 221 N. Cooper, died today at 7:30 a.m. at Ottumwa Hospital following a short illness. He had been a John Morrell & Co. employee from 1909 until he retired in 1957 as manager of export sales.
The son of Thomas & Mattie Hastings Lee, he was born in Ottumwa May 6, 1892. He was a lifetime resident here and was a member of East End Presbyterian Church, Empire Lodge 269, A.F. & A.M., and the Eastern Star Chapter at Hedrick.
He married Lillie M. North on July 8, 1913. She died May 28, 1953. Surviving are one son, James H. Lee of Hedrick; one grandson Ronald J. Lee of Hedrick; one granddaughter, Barbara Lee of Hedrick; and two great grandchildren. Several brothers preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
