Irene Watters
OTTUMWA -- Jessie Irene McCall Watters, 91, formerly of Lee Avenue in Ottumwa, died at 10:45 p.m. June 26, 1998, at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.
She was born Aug. 27, 1906, in Ottumwa to John Alexander and Margaret Eleanor Crist McCall. She married the Rev. Lewie L. Watters on Dec. 24, 1929, in Ottumwa. He died May 14, 1986.
She assisted her husband in his ministry for 50 years in Ottumwa, Sigourney, Bloomfield, Albia, Glenwood, Montrose, Des Moines, Leon, Washington, Boone and again in Ottwumwa at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph P. Watters Sr. of Katy, Texas, and Obed J. Watters of Bethany, Okla.; a daughter, Miriam R. Watters of Riverside, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Hursell Howard McCall, and an infant brother.
The services will be 10 a.m. today at Trinity church of the Nazarene in Ottumwa, the Revs. Eugene Smith and Grover Branson officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
